Manila: Global FC booked their place in the knockout phase of the 2017 AFC Cup on Wednesday with a 3-1 win over Beoungket Angkor that sealed top spot in Group F for the club from the Philippines.
Paul Mulders and Hikaru Minegishi gave Global a two-goal lead going into the half-time break with efforts in the 12th and 28th minutes respectively, but Beoungket pulled themselves back into the game through Sath Rosib’s 50th minute header.
But an injury time goal from Darryl Roberts sealed the win for Global, who complete the group phase of the campaign with 15 points to finish above 2015 AFC Cup winners Johor Darul Ta’zim.
