Leicester vs Chelsea Prediction & Match Preview

Leicester vs Chelsea
England – Premier League

Venue: King Power Stadium (Leicester).
Leicester will try their best at home to not let this difficult fixture affect their rhythm.

By all means a cracker of a contest is expected, with goals from both teams.

Leicester vs Chelsea Match Preview

Leicester defeated West Ham at home in their last PL fixture. The final scoreline was 4-1, and the huge victory helped Leicester to get back to their winning ways, putting an end to their dismal run.
In the meantime, Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw at home by the struggling Arsenal. Doubts about the Blues’ defense were raised after they let victory slip against a ten-man Gunners side, especially with the hosts conceding the equalizer in the 87th minute.
The Foxes have been quite on form this season, that the team found the back of the net in 29 of their previous 31 fixtures, and have scored the most number of goals after Liverpool, and Manchester City.
Even the mighty Reds have outscored Leicester by just two goals as of now. It also deserves mention that the two games where the Foxes failed to score were against Liverpool, and Manchester United.
Brendan Rodgers’s men scored twice or more in nine of their previous thirteen home games; and four in their latest match at King Power Stadium.
Meanwhile, Chelsea netted goals in 29 of their previous 34 overall match-ups, and in 18 of their prior 20 road trips.
They had also scored twice or more in 15 of their last 21 away fixtures, and one of the only two games where they failed to score away from home was against Manchester United.
Also, at home, only twice have Leicester lost this season, and it had come against Southampton, and potential champions Liverpool. Moreover, at one point in the season, Leicester had gone on a seven-match winning run at home, and a nine-game unbeaten streak.
Furthermore, Chelsea recorded 11 of the last 13 h2h wins, and have been unbeaten at this venue for the last five years. It also is worth mentioning that at this stadium, only twice have the Foxes won against the Blues since 1998.

Leicester vs Chelsea Head-to-head (h2h)

  • The last time these two met, spoils were shared with a 1-1 scorecard.
  • 11 of the former 13 wins went to the Blues.
  • It’s been five years since Leicester have won at this stadium.
  • Nine of the previous twelve meetings at this venue saw Chelsea scoring two or more goals.

Leicester vs Chelsea Prediction

In regards to result this Saturday, Leicester hold a slight upper hand. First of all they are at home, and next, they know just how tough it would be to find form back, once they lose their winning touch.
The recent dismal run of the Foxes could be traced back to the back-to-back losses against Liverpool, and Manchester City. As such, Rodgers’s men will be hell-bent to not let that happen again.
Also, as mentioned earlier, Leicester are quite strong at the King Power Stadium, especially with the roaring support they get from the passionate fans there.
However, Chelsea are no average squad. They have clear ambitions about finishing in the podium, and for that they need to take the Foxes out of the way. Moreover, the Blues have been the stronger side in h2h clashes for the better part of the 21st century.
Likely, the probable result should be a draw or a win for the Foxes, however without a clean sheet.
