Diego Souza encerra jejum, e Botafogo vence Corinthians

Apesar da derrota, Timão continua com chances de disputar a Libertadores.

A partida deste domingo (24) significou, para o Botafogo, um alívio em sua posição na tabela do Campeonato Brasileiro, conquistando uma importante vitória na batalha contra o rebaixamento. Já para o Corinthians, marcou a primeira derrota da equipe sob o comando de Dyego Coelho e afastou a equipe alvinegra dos seis primeiros colocados no Brasileirão.

O primeiro tempo começou com o domínio do Corinthians. A defesa do Botafogo parecia perdida diante do ataque do alvinegro, que tinha sua marcação avançada, encurralando os adversários para que Gustagol e Pedrinho tivessem boas chances de chutar ao gol. No entanto, aos 18 minutos, o Botafogo conseguiu se ajeitar, trocar passes e crescer na partida, chegando ao gol pela primeira vez, com Diego Souza terminando seu jejum e marcando na saída de Cássio. A reação do Timão foi enfática: a resposta veio de Vagner Love, com um chute cruzado que levou susto à defesa carioca. O Botafogo desperdiçou uma chance de ampliar o placar quando uma cabeçada de Marcelo Benevenuto parou na defesa de Cássio. A segunda etapa começou, novamente, com o Timão controlando o jogo, mas enfrentando dificuldade em definir suas jogadas chaves. O time carioca ficou mais recuado, dando oportunidades do adversário paulista dominar a partida. O técnico alvinegro Dyego Coelho colocou Clayson no lugar de Junior Urso para levar mais velocidade e força às laterais do Timão, o que não adiantou muito. A equipe corinthiana apenas ficou rondando a área botafoguense sem assustar, abrindo brechas na defesa que o time carioca também não soube aproveitar.

A vitória do Botafogo trouxe alívio para o time que, depois da partida, ficou na 14ª posição na tabela, quatro pontos acima do primeiro time no Z4, o Fluminense, que enfrentará o CSA nesta segunda-feira (25), em Maceió.

Já para o Corinthians, a situação não mudou muito após a derrota deste domingo (24). O time permanece com 50 pontos, na 8ª posição no Brasileirão, dentro do grupo que vai à fase preliminar da Copa Libertadores em 2020. O 9º lugar fica com o Goiás.

O próximo desafio da equipe alvinegra é na quarta-feira, em Itaquera, contra o já rebaixado Avaí, às 21h30.

Il brille, scintille, fait lever les foules. À 18 ans, Rodrygo Goes est un ouragan, débarqué au Real Madrid sans angoisse ni doute. Néo-international, le Brésilien entend bien inscrire son nom sur la durée.

Il est 20h58 à Istanbul. La ville est animée, comme toujours, tandis que l'incandescent stade de Galatasaray rêve d'un exploit face au grand Real Madrid. Sur la pelouse, isolé du brouhaha, Karim Benzema transmet des conseils. Il fait des gestes, imite les positions, guide un tout jeune joueur. Rodrygo Goes a 18 ans et il est titularisé pour la première fois en Ligue des champions. Ce sont ses premières minutes en C1, et son premier coup d'envoi tout court avec le maillot du Real. La pression est immense, mais le visage imberbe et hâlé du jeune Brésilien reste impassible. Grâce à un but de Toni Kroos, Madrid s'impose et se relance après deux revers. Rodrygo joue 82 minutes. Le round d'observation est passé. Quinze jours plus tard, grâce à un triplé et une passe décisive face à la même équipe de Galatasaray, au Bernabeu, c'est parti pour de bon. Un partidazo, comme disent les Espagnols. «Il n'y a pas d'âge pour bien jouer au football», décrit Zinédine Zidane à propos de son nouveau joyau, acheté 45 millions d'euros à Santos.

L'âge, un détail pour l'instant. Car Rodrygo semble mature et déterminé. «Quand je l'ai rencontré, il était très tranquille, explique à FF José Felix Diaz, qui a réalisé la première interview européenne de Rodrygo pour Marca. Il était sûr de tout ce qu'il a dit, avec une tête réfléchie et de l'aisance. Son environnement est très calme, en commençant par l'agent puis sa famille.» À l'époque, le petit attaquant ne s'est pas encore installé en Espagne qu'il maîtrise déjà l'espagnol. Assurément, il a compris dans quel monde il était. «Son père était joueur pro et ça l'aide, poursuit Félix Diaz. Le foot est toute sa vie, il a baigné là-dedans depuis l'enfance.» Arrière droit modeste en deuxième division brésilienne, Eric Batista de Goes, dit «Eric», a transmis le virus au rejeton. Il suit la carrière attentivement, guide les choix mais prend aussi de la distance. «Nous ne lui avons jamais rien imposé, expliquait-il à Globo en 2013. Il a toujours eu à faire ses propres choix. Je pense que c'est Dieu qui lui a donné ce talent spécial. C'est un cadeau.» Rodrygo joue alors à Santos, et il se fait déjà remarquer. Nike lui fait signer son premier contrat à 11 ans, un record. Ses coéquipiers sont aussi sous le charme. Dribbleur, buteur et feu follet, Rodrygo reçoit un surnom tout trouvé : Neymarzinho.

Des qualités de dribbles, surtout de finition

«Je pense qu'il sait déjà qui je suis», rigole-t-il à Globo en 2013 à propos du fuoriclasse du Paris Saint-Germain. Il n'a que 12 ans, mais les yeux sont déjà braqués sur lui. La photo à côté de son idole - voir ci-dessus - restera d'ailleurs dans les souvenirs. Car à Santos, Rodrygo fait étalage d'un talent remarquable. Le Brésil n'est pas avare de pépites, plus ou moins éphémères, mais celle-ci se distingue par sa simplicité et son sens du but. Il est certes un ailier, mais il marque et se montre décisif. Une palette et des qualités que lui reconnaît volontiers André Jardine. «Je n'ai travaillé avec Rodrygo que pendant une semaine, détaille l'actuel sélectionneur des U20 du Brésil. Mais durant cette période, il s'est révélé être un grand professionnel, avec beaucoup de concentration, de qualité et de compétences. Il est toujours attentif au travail et à ses fonctions. Il est déjà un grand joueur de football et aura sûrement un grand avenir.» Surtout, ceux qui l'ont côtoyé relèvent une personnalité détendue et réfléchie. «Bien avant de venir à Madrid, et c'est surtout car il est passionné et intelligent, il avait déjà bien étudié le foot européen», éclaire José Felix Diaz ; «C'est un garçon très timide en dehors du terrain, très humble, mais concentré qui, sur le terrain, se transforme en un joueur déterminé, habile et agressif», complète André Jardine. There's been a flurry of roster moves in recent days around MLS with the 2019 season fully over. What are some of the notable departures around the league?

The following list highlights players who are out of contract or who haven't had contract options picked up in recent days, and who are unlikely to return to their 2019 team. They could in theory return to their last club, but for these players, word on the street is they are moving on, and some could be in another MLS side's colors come 2020.

Juan Agudelo

The forward/midfielder is the ultimate "high upside" player, but Agudelo showed a versatile skillset across multiple New England Revolution regimes. Still just 26, he seems to have a market as a depth/utility piece for a number of teams in the league and is likely to get snapped up.

Juan David Cabezas

The Houston Dynamo were unquestionably better when the Colombian was in the lineup, but there are concerns over the 28-year-old's durability, as he's battled injuries the past two seasons. Don't be surprised if Cabezas is back in Houston on a new deal, but if the Dynamo opt to move on, there are several teams likely eager to take a flyer on him.

Marco Fabian

It's not altogether surprising Fabian is leaving the Philadelphia Union, but it's still notable. Fabian joined Philly as a high-risk, high-reward option, someone who is a terrific attacker, able to create chances and finish them with aplomb when in form, but whose years of injury woes meant he could fail to really take off. That happened and the Mexican's MLS tenure is likely to be just the one-year stint with the Union.

Nicolas Gaitan

Gaitan is in a similar position to Fabian, a player who, the hope was, would be an attacking Designated Player to build around for 4-5 years, but while Gaitan was influential for the Chicago Fire in 2019, he never really hit top form on an underachieving team. Gaitan's profile in global soccer is much higher, however, and he's already being linked to moves to the Premier League in January.

Miguel Ibarra

A few of the players on this are beloved by their MLS team's fanbase, but none more than Ibarra. His history with Minnesota United stretches back to 2012, across two leagues and with plenty of ups and downs for player and team in his tenure. A high-profile transfer to Club Leon helped burnish Ibarra's value to Minnesota, literally, while his underdog story that saw him make the US national team as a second-division player is something everyone can get behind. But it's been clear for some time his tenure with the Loons was running out and a change of scenery could do him good, too.

Kim Kee-hee

The Sounders defender was never the headliner in central defense, but that belied a consistency that's hard to find. It still feels quite likely Kim will be back with Seattle in 2020, but if the parting is permanent, a lot of MLS teams could do with an experienced, steady defender.

Haris Medunjanin

Another member of the "Most underrated players in MLS" club, much was made of Medunjanin's defensive deficiencies in midfield, but the Bosnian's skills in the middle of the park and hard-as-nails mentality meant he still largely succeeded despite being a square peg in a round hole. Signs point to him going abroad for 2020, but the Union will have a major hole to fill with Medunjanin's departure.

Luis Robles

The New York Red Bulls iron man showed some uncharacteristically shaky moments in 2019, and it's not shocking he's moving on. Still, Robles is not only another heartening MLS underdog story, he's been a top-line player on the field and off, as a leader and in the community. Don't be shocked if he's lining up against the Red Bulls next season.

Roman Torres

Considering Torres has been rumored to be leaving the Sounders every transfer window for years, it's not surprising the endpoint may be near. Still, Torres has gone from peripheral figure more than once this season to a leading figure in Seattle's MLS Cup run. It's possible his MLS days aren't yet over, but the smart money's on another tour in Colombia before the Panamanian hangs up his boots.

Bradley Wright-Phillips

The very best flyer signing in MLS history, Wright-Phillips didn't get to finish his Red Bulls tenure on his terms, but he's nonetheless had a terrific stint with the club. If this is the end of his time in MLS, we'll lose one of the best characters and best scorers ever seen in the league.

Probable Formations: İstanbul Başakşehir vs. Roma

As we outlined in our match preview, Roma head to Istanbul needing a win badly. The good news is that Paulo Fonseca’s group is closer than ever to getting back to full fitness— meaning he should have some options for this one. Unfortunately, Alessandro Florenzi, Javier Pastore, and Antonio Mirante will miss out with minor ailments. In addition, Bryan Cristante and Davide Zappacosta remain on the long-term injury list. Also missing on the squad list is Juan Jesus, who was also left off due to a technical decision.

Nevertheless, as you can see on the squad list for Thursday’s game, some other long-term absentees return. Both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Nikola Kalinic are back after long injury layoffs, giving Fonseca nearly a full assortment of attackers.

With Florenzi out, it should be Leonardo Spinazzola returning to start at right back after missing Sunday’s match. The rest of the defense will remain unchanged in front of Pau Lopez. Canales será verdiblanco hasta 2023

Sergio Canales renueva con el conjunto bético hasta junio de 2023, el cántabro aumenta su contrato debido a su buen rendimiento con la elástica verdiblanca en las dos ultimas temporadas. Tanto jugador como afición salen muy gratificados tras el acuerdo con la directiva.

El centrocampista santanderino llegó a Heliópolis en el mercado estival de 2018, tras no renovar con la Real Sociedad. Canales firmó sin negociar precio y sin pagar cláusula de contrato tras cuajar una buena temporada en San Sebastián. La junta directiva le echó el ojo, y apalabró su fichaje con seis meses de antelación.

El volante obtuvo un grandísimo rendimiento junto a su paisano Quique Setién. Tras la marcha del entrenador y la llegada de Rubí, el centrocampista se ha visto relegado a un papel menos destacado en la plantilla bética. Esto se ha visto debido a las llegadas en el último mercado, de jugadores de talla mundial como Nabil Fekir.

Pese a ello, en las últimas fechas de la Liga Santander, se ha visto un incremento de nivel del jugador que ha valido al club sevillano para lograr victorias como la vivida el pasado fin de semana frente al Valencia.

Canales declaró: "Hemos pasado momentos duros, después de las lesiones, pero estoy muy feliz de estar aquí y solo puedo decir que voy a dar el máximo. Llegar todos los días con una sonrisa, sabiendo que vas a disfrutar y vas a estar riéndote, alegre… eso no se paga con dinero", dijo el jugador.

Tras la oficialización de la renovación, Canales puso en su Twitter personal un Tweet haciendo referencia al sentimiento que lleva consigo el vestir una camiseta como la del Real Betis: "Hay que sentirlo, aprendí a sentirlo", fue lo que escribió el cántabro a todos sus seguidores de redes sociales.

Jürgen Klinsmann es nuevo entrenador del Hertha BSC

Cambios en la capital. Hertha BSC anunció que Ante Covic ha dejado el banquillo, además presentó a Jürgen Klinsmann como nuevo entrenador.

Tras los malos resultados, Hertha BSC anunció la salida – por mutuo acuerdo – del croata Ante Covic. Un par de horas después el club anunció la llegada de Jürgen Klinsmann al banquillo, quien semanas antes se había incorporado como asesor la dirigencia del equipo.

El legendario ex jugador y entrenador de la Selección de Alemania regresa a la Bundesliga después de 10 años. Su única experiencia en clubes fue en la temporada 2008- 2009 con el Bayern Munich, de donde se fue por diferencias con la dirigencia (y una serie de malos resultados) antes de concluir la temporada. Estuvo al frente del equipo bávaro durante 43 partidos y no consiguió ningún título:

Bundesliga: 29 partidos dirigidos (16 victorias, 6 empates y 7 derrotas)
UEFA Champions League: 10 partidos dirigidos (6 victorias, 3 empates, 1 derrota)

Klinsmann estará al mando del Hertha BSC hasta el final de la presente temporada. El equipo está hundido en una racha negativa de cinco partidos sin ganar (cuatro derrotas consecutivas) y con solamente 11 puntos en el lugar 15 (muy cerca de la zona de descenso).

Michael Preetz, Director Deportivo del equipo berlinés, fue el encargado de presentar al nuevo entrenador ante los medios de comunicación. “Estamos encantados de poder trabajar con un entrenador excepcional y carismático como Jürgen. Esperamos que pueda regresarnos a la senda del triunfo, el equipo necesita jugar mejor en las próximas semanas”, dijo Preetz.

El nuevo técnico también ofreció sus primeras palabras. “Mi padre era un orgulloso seguidor del Hertha, mi hijo jugó aquí dos años. Es un honor tomar este emocionante reto y estoy increíblemente motivado de hacerlo. Hay que aceptar la difícil situación en la que estamos, trabajando juntos como equipo y creando un vínculo con nuestra afición. Su apoyo puede darle al equipo la confianza que necesita”, declaró Klinsmann.

Este mismo día el equipo tuvo su primer día de prácticas bajo el mando del técnico alemán. Tendrá pocas horas para preparar su debut, el sábado el Hertha BSC recibirá en el Olympiastadion al Borussia Dortmund (partido correspondiente a la jornada 13 de la Bundesliga).

Salva Sevilla: "Siempre he sido bético"

El almeriense concedió una entrevista en la que habló del próximo rival de su equipo, el Mallorca.

Salva Sevilla, jugador que defendió la elástica verdiblanca entre los años 2010 y 2014, se volverá a encontrar con su ex equipo, del que guarda muy buenos recuerdos, y donde ha pasado por todo tipo de situaciones. En una reciente entrevista concedida a ABC Sevilla, dejaba sus impresiones sobre el reencuentro.

Su etapa en el Betis: "Ha sido un club muy importante para mí, donde me dieron la oportunidad de jugar en Primera División. Siempre había sido bético desde pequeño, y fue como un sueño todo. Guardo recuerdos muy bonitos."

Vivencias en el club: "Tuve de todo. El ascenso a Primera, la temporada que nos mantuvimos y la siguiente que nos clasificamos para la Europa League… Quitando el último año, que fue el peor y el equipo bajó a Segunda, empañando todo lo que tuve. Las cosas que vives en el Betis no las vives en otro club. Me encanta esa forma de vivir el fútbol, es un club muy especial."

Jugar contra el Betis: "No me imaginé cuando vine al Mallorca en Segunda B y con la edad que tengo, volverme a enfrentar al Betis. Cuando jugué en el Villamarín con el Espanyol el Betis iba perdiendo, y yo salí al campo y la gente me aplaudió y me ovacionó, como señal de recuerdo de un jugador trabajador que lo dio todo cuando estuvo allí."

Mallorca: "Me está marcando mucho porque desde el primer día que llegué me han tratado de la mejor manera. Apostaron por mí, y la gente está encantada. Estoy encantado de estar y jugar en el Mallorca."

Cómo llega el equipo: "Llegamos bien. Es verdad que el último partido lo perdimos, pero el equipo está luchando, peleando y dando la cara en cada partido. Hemos competido en todos los campos, pero esto es Primera División."

Clasificación del Betis en Liga: "No me parece normal. Tiene jugadores de primer nivel, de mucha calidad, pero estoy convencido de que el Betis irá hacia arriba. Tienen un equipazo."

Ancelotti reveals how Napoli managed to control Liverpool
