ACL MD6 - GROUP H: JEJU UNITED V GAMBA OSAKA PREVIEW

Jeju: Jeju United will secure a place in the last 16 of the 2017 AFC Champions League with a win over Gamba Osaka in Group H at Jeju World Cup Stadium on Tuesday.
The hosts currently occupy second place in the standings and are favourites to join group winners Jiangsu FC in the next round, but fail to secure all three points and Adelaide United would grab the runners-up spot at the death should they win at home against Jiangsu.
Gamba’s form, meanwhile, took a turn for the worse after winning their opening Group H tie but, propping up the table on just four points, could still advance should they win by a heavy margin against Jeju and Adelaide fail to beat Jiangsu.
Jeju have scored eight goals in claiming back-to-back K-League Classic wins since the beginning of May, while Gamba drew 1-1 with Shimzu S-Pulse in their domestic league on Friday.

ACL MD6 - GROUP H: ADELAIDE UNITED V JIANGSU FC PREVIEW

Adelaide: Hosts Adelaide United need a victory against Group H winners Jiangsu FC at Hindmarsh Stadium on Tuesday in order to have any chance of progressing to the 2017 AFC Champions League last 16.
A 3-3 draw with Gamba Osaka two weeks ago means Adelaide will be ousted if Jeju United defeat Gamba in the simultaneous Group H  kick-off, although anything other than a Jeju win and the Australian side will grab second place by themselves securing victory.
Dylan McGowan, Taylor Regan and Riley McGree all return from suspension to boost the home side’s chances, but Jordan O’Doherty – a scorer against Gamba on Matchday Five – misses out for the same reason.
Jiangsu secured their qualification with four straight wins before Jeju dealt them a first defeat two weeks ago. Ramires and Tao Yuan are both suspended for the trip to South Australia while, curiously, a 1-1 draw with Yanbian Funde on Friday leaves them still looking for a first Chinese Super League win of the season and propping up the table.

ACL MD6 - GROUP G: KAWASAKI FRONTALE V EASTERN SC PREVIEW

Kawasaki: A home win against already eliminated Eastern SC on Tuesday will ensure Kawasaki Frontale advance to the AFC Champions League knockout stage by claiming one of the top two places in Group G.
The hosts played out four successive draws before Tatsuki Nara scored the only goal of the game to defeat Suwon Samsung Bluewings two weeks ago and leave the J.League outfit requiring victory at Kawasaki Todoroki Stadium to progress.
Eastern have found their debut campaign tough, with a 6-0 reversal to Guangzhou Evergrande on Matchday Five confirming their elimination, but they did secure their only point of the group stage with a 1-1 draw against Kawasaki on Matchday Two.
Kawasaki’s 3-0 J.League win over Albirex Niigata on Friday ensures they go into the clash full of confidence, but Eastern will have to pick themselves up from a 4-1 defeat to Kitchee that saw their opponents pip them to the Hong Kong Premier League title on the final day of the season.

ACL MD6 - GROUP G: GUANGZHOU EVERGRANDE V SUWON BLUEWINGS PREVIEW

Guangzhou: Guangzhou Evergrande will wrap up top spot in Group G of the 2017 AFC Champions League by defeating Suwon Samsung Bluewings at Tianhe Stadium on Tuesday, but defeat would likely see the two-time winners eliminated.
Guangzhou sit a point above second-placed Suwon and two ahead of third-placed Kawasaki Frontale, meaning qualification to the last 16 would be secured should they avoid defeat. But should Suwon grab an away win, the K-League Classic team would secure top spot and leave the hosts’ fate dependent on the result between Kawasaki and bottom side Eastern SC.
Suwon’s 1-0 home reversal to Kawasaki two weeks ago left Group G wide open as the Japanese side left themselves needing only a home win against Eastern to eliminate one of the two sides above them and set up a tense Matchday Six.
Guangzhou warmed up for the tie with a 3-2 win over Shanghai Shenhua on Friday to stay top of the Chinese Super League, while Suwon suffered a 2-1 reversal to Ulsan Hyundai a day later to drop to sixth in the K-League Classic standings.

ACL MD6 - GROUP B: LEKHWIYA SC V AL FATEH PREVIEW

Doha: Al Fateh must beat Group B winners Lekhwiya and hope Esteghlal Khouzestan lose to Al Jazira on Tuesday in order to progress to the 2017 AFC Champions League Round of 16.
Unbeaten Lekhwiya’s 3-1 victory over Al Jazira two weeks ago secured top spot in the standings meaning they can go into the encounter at Abudullah Bin Khalifa Stadium in relaxed mode, albeit without the suspended influential midfielder Karim Boudiaf.
The scenario couldn’t be more different for the visitors, whose win and three draws – including a 2-2 stalemate with Lekhwiya on Matchday Two – has kept their slim chances of progression alive going into the final round of fixtures.
Lekhwiya defeated Al Khor 3-1 in the Emir Cup on Thursday as the Qatar Stars League leaders maintained their challenge for honours across the board, while Al Fateh claimed an excellent 4-1 victory over Al Ittihad in the Saudi Professional League as their superb run of form pulled them further clear of the relegation zone.

ACL MD6 - GROUP B: ESTEGHLAL KHOUZESTAN V AL JAZIRA PREVIEW

Ahwaz: Tournament debutants Esteghlal Khouzestan require a point against Group B’s bottom side Al Jazira on Tuesday to qualify for the last 16 of the 2017 AFC Champions League at the first time of asking.
After winning their opening two games on the continent, the Iranian side have drawn two and lost one ahead of the fixture at Ghadir Stadium. But a two-point lead over third-placed Al Fateh, coupled with a better head-to-head record, means a draw against already eliminated Al Jazira will suffice.
Salman Bahrani’s stoppage-time equaliser against Al Fateh in a 1-1 draw two weeks ago has left the hosts’ qualification prospects in their own hands and they warmed up for the clash with a 2-1 victory over Saba Qom in the Iranian Pro League on Thursday, although Farshad Salarvand sits out through suspension.
The visitors’ form on the continent has been woeful, in stark contrast to a domestic campaign that saw them wrap up the UAE League with several games to spare. Two wins from two domestically since their last Group B game means the Emirati team go into the tie on form, but both Yaqoub Al Hosani and Fares Juma are suspended.

ACL MD6 - GROUP A: AL TAAWOUN V ESTEGHLAL FC PREVIEW

Doha: Esteghlal will progress to the 2017 AFC Champions League Round of 16 should they claim a point against Al Taawoun at Al Ahli SC Stadium on Tuesday.
Al Taawoun sit three points adrift of second-placed Esteghlal in Group A, meaning a win would move the Saudi outfit level with their opponents on eight points, although a four-goal winning margin is required in order to gain the superior head-to-head record after Esteghlal ran out 3-0 victors in the corresponding fixture in February.
Kaveh Rezaei’s second-half equaliser against Al Ahli of the United Arab Emirates two weeks ago secured a 1-1 draw and took Esteghlal within a point of advancing, before the Tehran-based team won two on the bounce in the Iranian Pro League.
Al Taawoun, who suffered a 2-1 defeat to Al Ahli in the Saudi Professional League on Friday, played out one of the most entertaining matches of the tournament on Matchday Five as Ricardo Machado’s injury-time equaliser ensured a 4-4 draw with Lokomotiv. They now must win to have any chance of progression, but will have to do so without the suspended Naif Mousa.

ACL MD6 - GROUP A: AL AHLI (UAE) V LOKOMOTIV PREVIEW

Dubai: Al Ahli of the United Arab Emirates will seal their place in the last 16 of the 2017 AFC Champions League with a point against Lokomotiv at Rashid Stadium on Tuesday, although defeat could see them eliminated as Group A reaches a gripping finale.
Al Ahli suffered a 2-0 loss in Tashkent on Matchday Two and, with just three points separating the sides, a second reversal to Lokomotiv would see the Uzbek team boast the better head-to-head record.
However, if all four teams end up on eight points – a possibility should Al Taawoun defeat Esteghlal in Tuesday’s simultaneous Group A clash – goal difference, and not head-to-head records, would decide who advances to the knockout rounds.
The hosts, who are without suspended top scorer Makhete Diop, have played out two draws in the Arabian Gulf League since last appearing on the continent, while Uzbek League leaders Lokomotiv have claimed four points from six domestically.
