CHELSEA VS MIDDLESBROUGH: MATCH PREVIEW

Chelsea vs Middlesbrough Match Preview 8th May 2017

After losing 1-0 to West Ham on Friday night, Tottenham have it all to do if they’re to overtake Chelsea at the top of the Premier League, and as a result, the Blues are only two wins away from the title.
Chelsea begin this crucial period with a home game against relegation-stricken Middlesbrough on Monday and if they win then a trip to the Hawthorns just four days later could see the title return to London.
Tottenham squandered the chance to pile the pressure on Chelsea ahead of their match at Stamford Bridge as a Manuel Lanzini strike ensured Spurs slipped to their first defeat in ten games.
Despite Middlesbrough’s lowly league position, they should not be underestimated as they’ve picked up four points from their last two games, including a 2-2 draw against Manchester City – taking the lead twice in the game.
Due to Hull City’s failure to beat Sunderland on Saturday, Boro have been given renewed hope in their bid for survival, but a win is imperative against Chelsea.
Antonio Conte says that N’Golo Kante and David Luiz will have to be assessed ahead of the game, but other than that Chelsea have a fully fit squad.
Middlesbrough, on the other hand, are set to give late fitness tests to Daniel Ayala, Grant Leadbitter and Adlène Guedioura, while Victor Valdes and Gaston Ramirez are definitely out of contention for the match.
