Adelaide: Hosts Adelaide United need a victory against Group H winners Jiangsu FC at Hindmarsh Stadium on Tuesday in order to have any chance of progressing to the 2017 AFC Champions League last 16.
A 3-3 draw with Gamba Osaka two weeks ago means Adelaide will be ousted if Jeju United defeat Gamba in the simultaneous Group H kick-off, although anything other than a Jeju win and the Australian side will grab second place by themselves securing victory.
Dylan McGowan, Taylor Regan and Riley McGree all return from suspension to boost the home side’s chances, but Jordan O’Doherty – a scorer against Gamba on Matchday Five – misses out for the same reason.
Jiangsu secured their qualification with four straight wins before Jeju dealt them a first defeat two weeks ago. Ramires and Tao Yuan are both suspended for the trip to South Australia while, curiously, a 1-1 draw with Yanbian Funde on Friday leaves them still looking for a first Chinese Super League win of the season and propping up the table.
