The cars of Manchester United players

Manchester United is one of the most widely supported and profitable football clubs in the world. It’s natural therefore to assume that the players and coaching staff representing the team known as the ‘Red Devils’ drive some of the most outlandish cars on the market.
The cars owned by the current squad includes a mixture of sports cars, grand tourers and large SUVs. Also, while certain brands certainly seem popular, some players go for more unique choices.
Here’s our closer look at the cars driven by current members of the Manchester United squad.

Wayne Rooney – BMW i8

During his career, the Manchester United and England international striker Wayne Rooney has been seen behind the wheel of a vast number of different cars. In more recent months, Rooney has been driving a BMW i8 hybrid sports car, which is priced at around £105,000.
While the i8 certainly has the looks and performance figures to match the sports cars driven by many other footballers, Rooney’s i8 is far more efficient than your average sports car. It records an official combined fuel economy figure of 134.5mpg and the CO2 emissions output is just 49g/km.
Other cars Rooney has been seen driving while he’s been a Manchester United player include the Aston Martin Vanquish, MINI Cooper, Audi RS 6, Bentley Continental and Lamborghini Gallardo.

Memphis Depay – Rolls-Royce Wraith

United’s winger Memphis Depay has caused quite a stir at the Manchester club since arriving for a reported £25 million fee, and not just because of what he’s done on the pitch.
The Dutch international footballer has been seen visiting the training ground and other places in a Rolls-Royce Wraith. The ultra-luxurious coupe is worth an estimated £230,000, and Depay imported his left-hand drive Wraith from Rotterdam, where he drove it during his stint at his previous club, PSV Eindhoven.
Since arriving at United, Depay has also been spotted driving a Mercedes G-Class – another very large, luxurious and conspicuous choice of motor.

Daley Blind – Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

United’s Dutch international Daley Blind, who can play in a variety of defensive positions, uses a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray for his daily commutes.
United’s sponsorship agreement with Chevrolet is what allows players like Blind to get easy access to powerful, muscular sports cars like the V8-run Corvette which boasts a 0-62mph sprint time of 4.2 seconds. Although Chevrolet withdrew from the UK market back in 2015, the Corvette can still be ordered here for around £62,500.
Adnan Januzaj is another United player that’s been seen driving around in the stunning Corvette. Daley Blind meanwhile has also been seen commuting in an Audi RS 7, which is also used by United’s midfielder Michael Carrick.

David De Gea – Chevrolet Captiva

The American car manufacturer Chevrolet, owned by General Motors, has been a major sponsor of Manchester United for a few years now. As part of the sponsorship, the players and other staff at the team received free Chevrolet cars to use for commuting to work.
While some United players prefer to swap between their Chevrolet and other cars, goalkeeper David De Gea has been frequently seen using a large Chevrolet Captiva SUV in the range-topping LTZ trim.
Another driver of the Chevrolet Captiva is Manchester United’s current manager Louis Van Gaal.

Marouane Fellaini – Audi A7 Sportback

Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini has been spotted driving an Audi A7 Sportback since becoming a Manchester United player, which he did back in 2013.
The executive A7 model which Fellaini uses is a specification that features Audi’s famous Quattro four-wheel drive powertrain.

Phil Jones – Range Rover

The Range Rover is a car commonly associated with modern Premier League footballers and members of the Manchester United team are no exception.
The team’s English defender Phil Jones has been seen behind the wheel of the large British 4x4 on several occasions. German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is another United player that uses a Range Rover.

Chris Smalling – Bentley Continental

The Bentley Continental is another motor which has been regularly dubbed a ‘footballers’ car’ because of its popularity among such players.
Members of the current Manchester United squad are evidently a fan of Bentley’s grand tourer too, as the team’s English centre back, Chris Smalling, has been seen going to training in such a model painted in black. Another United defender, Marcos Rojo, also drives a Bentley Continental, although his is finished in a white paint job.
