Premier League footballers are renowned for owning some of the most expensive and glamourous cars money can buy.
So when you consider that Manchester City is one of the richest football clubs in the world (if not the richest of all), and can afford to pay huge wages to its star players, some pretty special motors can expect to be bought.
Here we take a look at the cars owned by some of the star players in the Manchester City Football Club squad.
Sergio Aguero – Lamborghini Aventador
Manchester City’s star striker Aguero has been seen on many occasions travelling around in a Lamborghini Aventador coupe. The supercar, which is powered by a 691bhp V12 engine, costs just over £260,000 to buy, so only a really well-paid job (like being a striker for one of the top Premiership Football clubs) could lead you to afford one.
Another Aventador owner in Manchester City’s squad is the French midfielder Samir Nasri. More specifically, Nasri owns an Aventador Pirelli special edition which has some unique styling features.
Vincent Kompany – Porsche Panamera 4S
Manchester City’s current captain, Vincent Kompany, gets around in a Porsche Panamera 4S. This version of the premium saloon, currently worth around £86,000, is powered by a naturally-aspirated V8 engine that delivers 395bhp. It can travel from zero to 62mph in just 4.8 seconds (or 4.5 with the optional Sport Chrono Package added).
Yaya Toure – Porsche 911 Turbo
Yaya Toure has been seen in a nice variety of luxury cars during his time playing at Manchester City. The midfielder’s large pay packet has allowed him to get behind the wheel of the Porsche 911 Turbo sports car, the Porsche Cayenne SUV, the Bentley Continental GT and a Mercedes tuned by aftermarket kit specialist Brabus. All of these cars combined would cost over half a million pounds to purchase.
Raheem Sterling – Smart Fortwo Grandstyle Edition
Since joining Manchester City from Liverpool during the summer of 2015, Sterling has been seen travelling to training in a car that can reasonably be considered modest by the standards set by Premier League footballers.
The English winger travels around in a Smart Fortwo city car, and although Raheem has picked the less common Grandstyle Edition Auto derivative, it still only valued at about £12,000.
Kevin De Bruyne – Mercedes G-Class G63 AMG
Manchester City’s talented attacking midfielder De Bruyne has been seen getting around in the massive Mercedes G-Class premium SUV. Specifically he has the G63 AMG version which pumps out 537bhp from its 5.5-litre V8 petrol engine.
De Bruyne’s not the only Premier League football to get around in this outlandish luxury SUV. Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil drives one too.
Wilfried Bony – Ferrari F12 Berlinetta
Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony is quite clearly a performance car and tuning enthusiast, since he owns several quick luxury motors which have undergone significant body modifications.
Bony’s car collection includes the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta which he has decked out in a striking white and black paint job. The F12 uses a 6.3-litre V12 and an F1-style dual-clutch transmission, which delivers 731bhp plus a 0-62mph sprint time of just 3.1 seconds. Other cars Bony owns includes a Range Rover Sport and a Mercedes ML63 AMG and both of these have a custom body kit.
Jesus Navas – Nissan Micra
Even at a club as rich as Manchester City, not every footballer will necessarily go for a super-glamorous motor. For instance, the club’s Spanish winger, Jesus Navas, has been seen arriving to training in a small Nissan Micra.
A new Micra nowadays has a price range between £8,000 and £13,000 – a small fraction of the cost of the various supercars and luxury SUVs most of Jesus’s teammates use.
