The cars of Arsenal Football Club players

Because Arsenal is one of the biggest football clubs in Europe and is based in London, it’s easy to assume the team’s players get behind the wheel of some of the world’s most exotic motors. Such an assumption would be very accurate too.
Current players in the Arsenal Football Club squad either own a big, luxury SUV or a glamorous supercar or have dabbled with both types of motor during their career.
Here we take a look at the cars driven by current Arsenal team players.

Mesut Özil – Mercedes G-Class G63 AMG

Arsenal’s skilful German attacking midfielder and club-record signing has previously been seen behind the wheel of a Ferrari 458 Italia supercar since he moved to the North London Club.
However, in more recent months, Özil has been spotted travelling to training in a Mercedes G-Class SUV, specifically the G63 AMG version which starts from over £130,000. Although the G63 inevitably can’t match the agility of the Ferrari, it’s still really fast thanks to the huge 5.5-litre V8 petrol onboard that produces 537bhp. Even though the G63 weighs around 2.5 tonnes, it can sprint from zero to 62mph in just 5.4 seconds.

Theo Walcott – Ferrari 458 Italia

Various reports in the past reveal that Theo Walcott is obviously quite the car fan as he has been seen driving a large number of different motors.
Definitely one of the highlights of Theo’s car collection is a black Ferrari 458 Italia, a supercar which fellow Arsenal player Jack Wilshire has also been seen driving. Walcott’s car history also includes the Volkswagen Touareg, Ford Mustang, Mercedes ML63 AMG and the Audi R8. Also, pretty much every car Theo has owned has undergone a certain amount of personal customisation.

Aaron Ramsey – Mercedes SLS

Welsh midfielder and self-confessed car fan Aaron Ramsey drives a Mercedes SLS supercar. While it’s no longer in production, the SLS could still give many of the latest supercars a good run for their money in terms of speed.
A standard version of the SLS is powered by a 6.3-litre petrol V8 producing 583bhp, giving the German supercar a zero to 62mph sprint time of just 3.7 seconds along with a top speed of 199mph. If anyone in the UK really fancies getting an SLS, then several examples can be found in the used car market but their price can vary between £150,000 and £200,000+ in the majority of cases.

Francis Coquelin – Audi R8

Arsenal’s French defensive midfielder, Francis Coquelin, has previously been seen commuting in a Mini Cooper S but in more recent time he has made the quite the upgrade by getting himself an Audi R8 supercar for travel.
Another Arsenal footballer, Alexis Sanchez, famously owned an Audi R8 during his days at the Barcelona team, but he ended up writing it off in a crash while in Spain.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Range Rover

Seemingly no Premier League squad is truly complete unless there’s at least one player who drives a Range Rover.
In the current Arsenal team, the young English attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a player who has been seen regularly turning up to training in one of the British-brand SUVs.

Hector Bellerin – Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe

Young, Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin is a player with not the largest of profiles in the latest Arsenal squad (although he has become more a regular starter recently), but his choice of car is arguably one of the most glamorous.
Bellerin has been seen driving around in a Mercedes S-Class coupe, a S63 AMG model to be exact. The car uses a stunning 576bhp 5.5-litre V8 twin-turbo petrol engine and can go from zero to 62mph in just 4.3 seconds. Pricing for this super-luxurious AMG coupe starts at just over £120,000.
The particular AMG car Bellerin uses is finished in a special pearl white wrap and sports gloss black alloy wheels with contrasting red brake calipers.

Mikel Arteta – Audi Q5

Arsenal’s Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta is reported to have been seen driving around in an Audi Q5 SUV.
While this choice is less spectacular than the choice of motor made by certain other Arsenal players, the Q5 still comes packed with plenty of luxury trim and equipment. In a way, it also feels a more original choice of SUV from a footballer than yet another Range Rover.
