Celtic Legend Tips Aberdeen Ace To Fit In Next To Ryan Jack At Rangers: Gerrard Must Snap Him Up

In a recent interview to Football Insider, Celtic legend Frank McAvennie has tipped Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson to be the player that should eventually come in as Ryan Jack’s partner in the core of the Rangers team. The former striker has gone on to claim that Rangers are interested in Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson and that they are even considering acquiring him in the upcoming transfer window. Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has also tipped the Scot to be one of the players that can help the Ibrox club in their hunt to stop Celtic’s ten-in-a-row title win next season.

The Celtic legend then went on to claim that the Aberdeen man would know what it means to pull on the famous blue kit, especially considering all the family connections that the midfielder has to the Ibrox club. Although he confirmed the Gers’ interest, he clarified that Celtic were also a possible destination. Speaking on the matter, McAvennie said, “From what I hear, Rangers are talking about buying Ferguson from Aberdeen, him and Ryan Jack would do well together. A big family connection with Rangers as well. I could see him at Celtic, as well. He would be one to take over from Scott Brown.”

Joe Aribo, Glen Kamara and Scott Arfield were all used across multiple competitions, while Steven Davis was also involved in the squad. Aribo and Kamara, as promising as they’ve been, still have a lot of developing to do before becoming starters at a club like Rangers. Arfield, 31, and Davis, 35, aren’t capable of providing the same level of energy or enthusiasm in the engine room for Steven Gerrard’s team.
