American star Christian Pulisic wasn't the only Concacaf player to score a huge goal in England on Sunday.
Canada men's national team midfielder Junior Hoilett's thunderbolt gave Premier League playoff chasers Cardiff City the first-half lead in a 2-0 victory over English League Championship co-leaders Leeds United.
Hoilett's fifth league goal this campaign helped Cardiff into a tie on points with sixth-place Preston North End in a wide-open race for the sixth and final promotion playoff spot. With eight games remaining, seven clubs are within three points of that final position the four-team postseason between the 3rd through 6th finishers in the League Championship, with a third spot in next season of the English Premier League on the line.
Cardiff currently trail Preston by one goal on goal-differential.
Former New York City FC winger Jack Harrison went all 90 minutes for Leeds, who remain tied atop the table with West Bromwich Albion, and seven points clear of third-place Fulham. While West Brom also have the edge on goal difference, both are in good shape for promotion, which is automatic for the league's top two finishers.
