THE TEAM NEWS
GIL VICENTE
  • It has been a disastrous restart for Gil Vicente who have lost all three of their matches since the league resumed and they are closer to the drop now than the European places and sit in the bottom half of the table.
  • Boss Victor Oliveira serves a touchline ban here after his frustrations boiled over in the last defeat so his assistant will lead the team as they welcome the bottom club to town here.
  • They have injury concerns over regulars Ygor Nogueira and Fernando Fonseca in defence so they may be weakened at the back once again but they are their only potential absentees ahead of this game.
DESPORTIVO AVES
  • Bottom-club Desportivo Aves picked up just their sixth positive result of the season last time out as they managed to hold title-chasing Porto to a goalless draw despite being resigned to relegation.
  • They managed to thwart Porto for the entire 90 minutes in that game and they had some superb defending and goalkeeping from Fábio Szymonek to thank for the miraculous point that stunned so many.
  • They are boosted by the return to fitness the likes of Reko Silva and Ricardo Mangas while Marius Mouandilmadji is available after missing out against his parent club so they have a fully fit squad at their disposal.
THE PREDICTION
Gil Vicente have been abysmal since the restart which has undone much of their good work from prior to the break. They face an Aves side who are going down this season but come off an incredible draw against Porto last time out. They may struggle to motivate themselves after that match however and with Gil Vicente keen to bounce back and end this losing run, the hosts may finally get a win under their belts.
