Torino owner Urbano Cairo has decided to donate four months of his salary as President of RCS MediaGroup to charity.
A statement released by RCS confirmed Cairo had given up his wages for March, April, May and June, equating to €500,000.
Furthermore, he will donate the money to charity in the form of €5,000 vouchers, each worth €1,000, with the intention of helping families affected by the coronavirus crisis.
Cairo’s company Cairo Communication owns a controlling stake in RCS, which commissions newspapers such as Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere della Sera and Marca in Spain.
