The Thierry Henry era in Montreal begins when the Impact head to Costa Rica to face Deportivo Saprissa in the opening leg of their Concacaf Champions League Round-of-16 matchup.
Montreal are making their fourth appearance in the CCL, and first since finishing as runners-up to Club America in the 2014-15 competition. But they'll have to navigate without Nacho Piatti, who returned to San Lorenzo in Argentina after a productive five-and-a-half years in Montreal. But the Impact brought in Honduran international Romell Quioto, along with Steeven Saba, the Haitian international who was named to the Concacaf Gold Cup Best XI.
Saprissa, the 2019 Concacaf League winners, are no strangers to the tournament. This will be the Purple Monsters' ninth appearance.
