Alisson will be tasked with trying to stop former team-mate Mohamed Salah from adding to his tally on Tuesday night but he could reunite with the Egyptian next season.
Brazil's No 1 has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield next summer with Roma said to have valued the 25-year-old at £62million.
Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to sanction such a big-money move unless he feels Alisson will play a big part in bridging the gap between a top-four finish and battling it out for the title.

Loris Karius has silenced his doubters in recent months but he is still some way short of being on level terms with the likes of David de Gea, Thibaut Courtois and Ederson.
Alisson is highly regarded in European football and is set to start in goal ahead of Ederson this summer despite the Manchester City man's fine start to life in England.
Ederson has kept 15 clean sheets in 34 games since moving to the Premier League for £35million but Tite will still hand Alisson the No 1 shirt.
Alisson's Serie A statistics for this season reads the same as Ederson's – with the Roma star also keeping 15 clean sheets in 34 league games.
The former Internacional shot stopper has also made waves in the Champions League by keeping five consecutive clean sheets at home to Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Qarabag, Shakhtar Donetsk and Barcelona.
Real Madrid and PSG are both said to be keeping close tabs on him while Champions League opponents Liverpool made an enquiry for him during the January window.
Another fine performance on Tuesday will add a few million to his price-tag but Liverpool know they will have to spend big if they are to win their first ever Premier League title next season.
Whoever signs Alisson will be getting a keeper with cat-like reflexes but will have to smash the transfer record for a goalkeeper which was broken by City when they signed his countryman in June.

Alisson had to play the waiting game in Italy as he was back-up to Wojciech Szczesny last season before the Arsenal man left for rivals Juventus.
Former Tottenham defender Federico Fazio spotted Alisson's quality last season even when he was playing a bit-part role in cup games.
Fazio, who starts at centre back for Roma, said: 'He's excellent,' he told Roma TV. 'Even last year — when he was only playing in the cup — I saw him train and work the hardest every day. I'm sure it is and it will be his year.'
Roma will do everything they can to keep him at the Stadio Olimpico and Alisson still has three years left to run on his contract.
But if he pulls off what seems to be mission impossible at the moment by keeping Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino at bay then Klopp may well push Liverpool's top brass to conclude a deal for Alisson.
