PREVIEW: Nottingham Forest v Barnsley

Barnsley will be aiming to give their Sky Bet Championship survival hopes a boost when they face Nottingham Forest at The City Ground this evening.

The Tykes are two points from safety with the match against Forest being their game in hand over their relegation rivals.
The home side go into the match with only pride to play for but Aitor Karanka’s side will at least want to record the rarity of back-to-back home wins. Forest have struggled at times this season and one win in their last eight matches does not make good reading for their long-suffering fans.
Defender Joe Worrall will miss the match with a knee injury while midfielder David Vaughan is sidelined with an ankle problem. There is better news for The Reds in attack with both Lee Tomlin and Daryl Murphy available for selection once again.
Barnsley arrive on the banks of the Trent knowing that only a win will haul them out of the relegation zone this evening. Jose Morais’ men have collected just one point from their last three matches and their form must quickly improve if they are to have any chance of a great escape.
The South Yorkshire club have no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of the match. Defender Adam Jackson could return after missing Saturday’s 2-1 derby defeat at Leeds United.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7.45pm with all pre and post-match reaction coming up on The72 website.
