Chongqing president confident of Andres Iniesta deal

Andres Iniesta’s departure is getting every closer and it looks as though he’ll be heading to Chinese Super League club Chongqing.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Tianjin Quanjian for some months now but Chongqing president Gong Daxing reckons they’ve won the race.

“I’m sure that we will be able to present Andres Iniesta and his arrival will be a great asset for Chongqing and a bonus for our brand,” he said.

Iniesta said after Saturday’s Copa del Rey win over Sevilla he plans to make an announcement on his future this week and it looks like he’ll be leaving at the end of the season.
