Who is DeAndre Yedlin's pick for the best manager he's ever played for? His answer might surprise a certain section of US soccer fandom.
In a quick-hit interview with ESPN FC's Alexis Nunes, the Newcastle United and US men's national team man named none other than former USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann as his choice.
Klinsmann patrolled the sidelines for the Yanks from 2011-2016 and was often a polarizing figure among the fanbase, but he did oversee Yedlin's breakthrough with the program when he emerged as one of the team's stars at the 2014 World Cup. Yedlin has become a staple ever since, racking up 62 senior caps and counting at the age of 26.
Yedlin dished a couple more takes in the interview, including his go-to karaoke song, as well as his pick for his best fellow right back in the world. Check out the whole segment below.
