Liverpool will hope to get back to winning ways after losing to Watford for the first time this season in the Premier League last Saturday.
The Reds have also lost three out of their last four games in all competitions, and saw their treble hopes quashed after losing to Chelsea in the FA Cup this past Wednesday.
Although last Saturday’s defeat to Watford means Jürgen Klopp’s side will not be able to match Arsenal’s invincibles, they can match their own record for winning the most home league games in a row, which currently stands at 22.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, are in a poor run of form, and are winless in their last three league games.
Last weekends’ draw coupled with results elsewhere saw the Cherries drop back into the relegation zone, and they will need to string together a good run of results to move out of the bottom three and create a bit of a gap.
Liverpool have a good record against Eddie Howe’s side, and have won five and drawn just one of the last six meetings between the two sides.
Liverpool Team News
The Reds will be without two key players in Jordan Henderson and Alisson Becker. While Henderson has a hamstring issue, Alisson picked up a muscle injury, and is a doubt for the Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid as well.
Naby Keita has returned to training, but it remains to be seen if he will make the Liverpool lineup or play a part against the Cherries.
Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Bournemouth
Defence
In Alisson’s absence, Adrian should start in goal. The Spaniard was impressive early on in the season when Alisson missed a good number of games, and Klopp will be hopeful the former West Ham mad puts in a solid performance in between the sticks.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez should feature at the heart of the defence against the Cherries. Dejan Lovren got a game against Watford last Saturday, but struggled against Troy Deeney.
Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are the first choice duo when it comes to the full-back positions, and they should keep their place in the Liverpool lineup.
Midfield
Henderson’s absence has hurt Liverpool as the skipper was in good form before his injury, and often opened up teams with his spectacular passing from the deeper areas of the pitch.
Fabinho will likely start as the deepest midfielder, while Gini Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could support the Brazilian in a three-man midfield.
Attack
Mohamed Salah will play in his 100th Premier League game for Liverpool, and will hope to add to his goals tally for the season. Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino should complete the Liverpool attack.
