According to German publication Bild (h/t Express), Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is planning to have a face to face meeting with Leipzig ace Timo Werner over a possible move to Anfield.
The German ace has enjoyed a prolific season. His performances have caught the eye of several teams and Liverpool hope to steal a march on their competitors.
As per the report, the Reds have made the 23-year-old their transfer priority. Liverpool are willing to meet the player’s release clause believed to be around £50million.

Klopp is keen to meet the striker who has netted an impressive 27 goals and 12 assists in 37 appearances this season. The Reds boss hopes to sell the Liverpool project to a player who is already a fan of the club and a man in charge.
With the current pandemic, any meeting will have to wait and the negotiations could stretch far into the summer.
The charm offensive
Klopp has made a habit of meeting up with players before they make the move to Merseyside. He met up with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Georignio Wijnaldum. The latter was left mesmerized by the German’s charisma that he chose to make the move to Liverpool over Tottenham Hotspur. (h/t Guardian)
