According to a recent report by Globo Esporte, Everton have registered their interest in acquiring the services of Gremio winger Everton Soares this summer. However, the same source has also claimed that the Toffees will have to battle it out with Borussia Dortmund for the right to land the Brazil international when the transfer reopens later this year. It is believed that Everton’s current contract at Gremio runs out in the summer of 2023 so the Brazilian outfit will be under no pressure to cash in on him in the off-season (via Globo Esporte).

The Maracanau-born wide player came through the youth ranks of Fortaleza before joining Gremio at a young age back in 2013. He has gone on to make 138 appearances for the Brazilian Serie A giants, registering 36 goals and 14 assists in all competitions. His record at Gremio is quite impressive but whether it will be good enough to earn him a move away from his homeland, remains to be seen.
The 24-year-old is versatile enough to play in multiple positions across the frontline which makes him a valuable asset in Renato Portaluppi’s squad. His incredible contributions have not gone unnoticed and have earned him 11 senior caps for the Brazilian national team. Everton has scored three goals for his nation thus far and will be in with a shout to be named in Tite’s squad for the Copa America which has been delayed until the end of next season due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak.
