South Korea stay put in FIFA rankings 1 month ahead of World Cup

SEOUL, May 17 (Yonhap) -- South Korea stayed steady at No. 61 in the FIFA rankings announced on Thursday.
South Korea opened the year at No. 59, and climbed to 58th in February before dropping back to 59th in March. They then dropped to 61st in April and remained in that position for May.
South Korea's Group F opponents at next month's World Cup in Russia also remained in the same spots. Germany, the defending World Cup champions are still No. 1, while Mexico are No. 15 and Sweden are No. 23.
South Korea's first match is against Sweden on June 18.
