Chelsea appear to still be in with a chance of making Maurizio Sarri their new first-team manager ahead of next season.
According to claims from Italian news outlet Rai Sport, the Napoli boss has not yet signed a new and improved contract with the club as he waits to see how Chelsea deal with Antonio Conte.
The Italian boss is set to be given his marching orders after Chelsea’s FA Cup final date with Manchester United on Sunday and it appears as though Sarri is not yet ready to commit to anything at Napoli.
Chelsea have been linked with a number of managers across Europe in recent months but Sarri has emerged as a strong candidate. The Blues’ hierarchy are understood to be interested due to the tactician’s style of play and recent successes with Napoli.
An offer from the Serie A giants is on the table for Sarri but if Conte does indeed get the boot from Chelsea, it seems as though Sarri will at least consider the switch to Stamford Bridge.
