Huddersfield bank £102.4m in Premier League

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN earned £102.4m in revenue during their maiden Premier League campaign, figures have revealed. Manchester United led the way at the top of the revenue table with just shy of £150m in money received from the Premier League during the 2017-18 campaign. United’s total revenue came in at a shade under £149.8m, just over £300,000 more than title winners Manchester City, while bottom side West Brom also received the least revenue, albeit still securing a payment just under £94.7m. Each club received the same lump sum of narrowly in excess of £80.4m from the Premier League’s domestic and international television deals, plus their central commercial revenues. The differences came from the facility fees and merit payments, based on how many times each team was shown on television and their final league table position. Barnsley captain Andy
Yiadom has completed a
move to Championship rivals Reading. The Londoner, whose contract expires at Oakwell next month, had rebuffed the club’s offers to sign a new deal and had been linked with several clubs, including Leeds United. The 26-year-old underwent a medical at the Royals on Thursday and is believed to have penned a long-term four-year deal.

Doncaster Rovers are close to announcing a second signing following the arrival of Burnley defender Tom Anderson on a two-year-deal. The 24-year-old, who played eight games for Rovers on loan in 2017-18, will join on July 1. He said: “I am really happy to get the deal done quickly, it means I can now relax with my future sorted and get ready for the start of pre-season. “It is important for any player and with me being out of contract at Burnley I wanted to get it done, I did not want to be going away and worrying about what was going to happen.

“Everything to do with the club made me want to stay here, the manager was great with me during my loan spell and I got on well with all the lads.” Bradford City have signed giant teenage Barnsley striker Tom Clare on a one-year professional deal.
