St Etienne lead the race for Algerian winger



Saint Etienne are the leading the race to sign Algerian winger Said Benrahma, according to French media outlet L’Equipe.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan to Ligue 2 team LB Chateauroux from OGC Nice, where he has seven goals and four assists in 26 matches this season for them. This includes scoring twice in the French Cup.

However, other clubs in Ligue 1 are also said to be keeping tabs on Benrahma, who has one appearance for the Algerian national team.
Benrahma was born in Algeria, before signing for Nice as a youngster in 2013. He is currently on his third loan spell out of the club, and is contracted to OGCN until summer 2020.
He previously enjoyed loan spells at Gazalec Ajaccio and Angers. The winger can play either down the right side of midfield, or even as a striker, showing good versatility.
He has helped his side to 8th position in the second tier of French football this season, as they look to fight for promotion. Benrahma started out his career in the country of his birth, with NRB Bethioua.
St Etienne already have one Algerian youngster in their ranks, in the form of Rayan Souici. They are currently 9th in the Ligue 1 standings, and Benrahma would certainly improve their side.
