ARSENAL GIVEN BOOST IN THEIR PURSUIT OF SUMMER TARGET

Arsenal have been given a boost in their chase for Stevenage defender Ben Wilmot as it is believed that Watford have pulled out of the race to sign him, according to Sky Sports News.
Wilmot has been excellent for Stevenage in League Two this season, as the 18-year-old looks to establish himself as a Football League, and potentially a Premier League, player.
At the start of the calendar year, the England U19’s star made 12 consecutive appearances for the Boro and made himself one of the first names on the team sheet.
Stevenage are currently mid-table in League Two, but it looks like next season, Wilmot may be quite a bit higher than that.
It looks like he will not be at Watford as it has been reported that the Hornets have had a bid of £500,000 turned down by Stevenage who now value Wilmot at over £1m.
Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion are said to be interested in the defender, as well as a number of Championship clubs, meaning Stevenage will struggle to keep hold of him for the 2018/19 season.
Arsenal are not the only one of the “big six” interested in the youngster as Chelsea could also look to sign him this summer.
