Mexican head coach Roberto Medina gave his post-game thoughts on the friendly between Mexico and the USA, which ended in a 6-2 loss for Mexico. He mentioned he liked the way his team played with intensity. He criticized the referees for calling plays that he considered to be all in favor of the USA. He also mentioned that those type of matches are good for “El Tri” because he can analyze what the real level of Mexican soccer is as of right now. Medina said he is working with young players to develop a competitive team for the future. 
When asked about the new Women’s League in Mexico he said it is good, but right now he believes  players need more international projection to acquirer experience and get better in general. He went on to say the league in Mexico is good for young players, but he thinks there is a lot of work to do to get it to a higher level. Medina said that qualifying for the World Cup is the main goal for his team this year.
