Predicted Watford Line-up To Face Huddersfield Town In The Premier League
This weekend, Watford travel away to Huddersfield knowing that one more point will ensure their Premier League status for next season.
Although they started the season so well under Marco Silva, the Hornets are still not assured of their Premier League place for next season and a win against an out-of-form Huddersfield would go a long way in improving the confidence around Vicarage Road.
Javi Gracia has to get more of a tune out of his attacking players and shore up their currently leaky defence.
Probable Watford XI
Manager: Javi Gracia
Formation: 4-2-3-1
GK – Orestis Karnezis
The Greek international will keep his place in the side even though he hasn’t played brilliantly over the past two games, he will be eager to repay the faith his manager has shown him.
LB – Jose Holebas
The 33-year-old Greek international has been strong defensively this season but can be ill-disciplined so he will have to keep his concentration against Huddersfield.
CB – Craig Cathcart
Cathcart will come into to start his first game this season after the mistakes in recent games by Mariappa.
CB – Sebastian Prodl
The 30-year-old Austrian is a big player and is the leader of the Watford defensive unit. Physically he is always up for the battle.
RB – Daryl Janmaat
The former Newcastle player is a key part of the Watford team and will attempt to provide width and put the ball on the head of the strikers.
DM – Etienne Capoue
Capoue was playing much better than he is currently earlier in the season, but he has a fierce shot on him and can dictate the tempo of the Hornets play.
DM – Abdoulaye Doucouré
Didn’t have a great game against Bournemouth but has been Watford’s best player this season.
LW – Roberto Pereyra
The Argentinian winger has looked a real threat to defences in recent weeks and will be looking to carry on his good form against Huddersfield.
AM – Will Hughes
Starting only his 7th game of the season Will Hughes will continue just behind Troy Deeney in the attack, every time he has been given an opportunity he has proven he is up to the challenge of the Premier League.
RW – Richarlison
The talented Brazilian striker has been given a rest by Gracia in recent weeks after his goals dried up, but now is the time to unleash his attacking talent once more.
ST – Troy Deeney
The big striker always gives his best for Watford and although he is almost as likely to get sent off as grab a goal, he is a vital part of the way Watford play.
