Report: Barcelona rejected chance to bring Dani Alves back in January

This is not going to go down well...

As if Dani Alves’ performances in the Champions League with Juventus have not been bad enough for Barcelona, Marca have brought fresh disappointment by claiming the Brazilian wanted to return to Camp Nou in January.
The report claims Alves was keen on coming back to Barca after initially struggling to adjust to life in Turin and with his children still living in Spain.
However, the Barcelona hierarchy reportedly refused to even consider the possibility of allowing him to return, despite the fact they had failed to find an adequate replacement.
Neither Sergi Roberto nor Aleix Vidal have managed to nail down the right-back slot with Barca still continuing to be linked with a host of full-backs ahead of the summer window.
Alves, meanwhile, may not be at the very height of his talents but is well on the way to adding to his already packed trophy cabinet.
In fact the brilliant Brazilian could end the season scooping a treble with Juve favourites for Serie A, in the Coppa Italia final and looking unstoppable in the Champions League.
It’s doubtful Alves would entertain the idea of returning again, but if he did, he may find the club has a very different answer now.
