Preview: Zamalek bid to secure place in CAF Champions League quarterfinals against ZESCO

Egypt's Zamalek is hosting Zambia's ZESCO United on Friday, searching for their second win in the African Champions League to secure a seat in the quarter final.
The Whites are expected to start the game with ambitions of keeping their winning ways after beating Aswan 2-0 and Tanta 3-2 in the Egyptian Premier League, despite suffering poor results both domestically and continentally at the start of the season.
Zamalek's French coach Patrice Carteron decided to rest a number of his key players against Tanta in preparation for the Champions League clash against ZESCO, which could have cost him the game.
However, the White Knights managed to clinch the game in the last minutes thanks to the efforts of Ahmed 'Zizo' Sayed, who entered the game as a substitute in the 71st minute to create an equaliser for his teammate Mohamed Ounajem in the 87th minute, and scored himself the winner in the 92nd minute.
After defeating Tanta, Zamalek jumped to third place on the Egyptian Premier League standings with 21 points after 11 matches, behind Arab Contractors, who are second with 26 points from 12 matches, and the leaders Ahly, who have 30 points after 10 matches.
Congo's TP Mazembe top Group A with seven points, Zamalek come second with four points after one victory, one draw, and one loss, ZESCO are in third place with two points, and Angola's Primero de Agosto bottom the group, also with two points.
Zamalek are expected to start the game with full force, but the game's squad list missed the team's left back Abdallah Gomaa, as well as Mohamed Abdel-Ghany, who reportedly suffered from muscular fatigue.
Carteron may choose in the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations champion Mohamed Abdel-Salam or Mahmoud Hamdy 'El-Wensh' instead of Abdel-Ghany, and Mohamed Abdel-Shafy instead of Gomaa.
The squad list also witnessed the return of the team's skipper and right back Hazem Emam, so he might play in his position if he is ready, instead of using Abdel-Salam.
