Udinese vs Atalanta: Preview and Prediction

Udinese vs Atalanta Match Preview 7th May 2017
Udinese vs Atalanta
2016/17 Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 7 May 2017
Kick-Off: 11:30 UK,
Venue: Dacia Arena (Udine).
After a 2-2 draw with Juventus, Atalanta will hope to continue their push for fifth spot as they take on Udinese on Sunday afternoon.
However, Udinese have been in excellent form on their home turf, despite their surprise 4-0 loss to Bologna. They have won three games in a row at the Dacia Arena and were the first team to hold Juventus to a draw (at this ground). Since then, they have won all their last home games and also have no trouble finding the back of the net against the likes of Napoli, Inter, and Milan.
In total, they have scored nine goals in their last three home games and will be expected to rebound after being shutout against Bologna. Atalanta, meanwhile, have failed to keep clean sheets in their last four games. That being said, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have been very impressive this term, albeit they did lose 3-1 to Udinese in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
Will Udinese be able to continue their strong run at the Dacia Arena? Or will Atalanta manage to get some revenge for their 3-1 loss to the Zebrette as La Dea aim to secure fifth place?

Udinese vs Atalanta: Head-to-head statistics

  • Udinese have a record of W5-D5-L10 in their last 20 home games against teams ranked above them in the table.
  • Atalanta have a record of W7-D7-L6 in their last 20 away games against teams ranked below them in the table.
  • Udinese are unbeaten in the last six Serie A games against Atalanta: three wins and three draws.
  • The last Atalanta win at Udinese’s home was in October 2009.
  • The Zebrette have won the last three home games.
  • The last time they won four Serie A home matches in a row was in May 2013.
  • Udinese have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 home matches against Atalanta in all competitions.
  • However, La Dea are unbeaten in their last six games – including a 2-2 draw with Juventus.

Udinese vs Atalanta: Prediction

Both teams have scored in all but one out of their last six meetings, whilst Udinese have scored nine goals from their last three home games. Meanwhile, Atalanta have conceded at least twice in their last three home games against the Zebrette and have not beaten them since October 2009. This could really represent a banana peel for La Dea; whilst they are not expected to lose, Udinese could give them a tough fight.
