KYLIAN MBAPPE reportedly still has Arsenal chasing his signature with his price-tag not putting Arsene Wenger off.
Monaco’s young hitman has attracted interest from Europe’s elite, including Real Madrid and Manchester United.
The 18-year-old’s goalscoring form in Ligue 1 and the Champions League means he could move on this summer.
But Monaco are determined to keep hold of Mbappe and aimed to deter suitors by demanding £85million.
However, compatriot Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of the talented Frenchman, having even visited his house for talks last year.
The Arsenal manager failed to convince Mbappe to join, as he signed a new contract with Monaco.
According to the Daily Mail though, Arsenal insiders say they would pay the required amount to sign Mbappe.
The Gunners are also willing to guarantee the striker he will play centrally at the Emirates rather than being shifted out wide.
And the Monaco star would have assurances he will play every week, despite his age.
It is said Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane cannot tell Mbappe the same at this stage.
At the Bernabeu, Cristiano Ronaldo could be prioritised centrally, forcing Mbappe to play on the left, while consistent game time is not a certainty there.
United are reportedly keen and have apparently made an offer worth £84m.
But French newspaper L’Equipe claim Mbappe is not interested in joining Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
A move to Madrid is claimed to be his preference, and the Daily Mail add Arsenal accept they could end up at the back of the queue for their top targets.
Wenger’s uncertain future is a hinderance for the club, while Champions League football is also a key factor.
Even though Arsenal are prepared to double the £40m they paid for Mesut Ozil, their diminished status is not likely to lure Mbappe
