Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund, 2016-17 DFB Pokal Semifinals: Projected Lineups, Preview

It’s time to get ready for the big game. Bayern Munich will host Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena in the semifinals the DFB Pokal. It’s the sixth straight year that Bayern and Dortmund have met in the Pokal, and it’s always an intense match.
They met two and a half weeks ago in Munich, and Bayern smashed Dortmund 4-1. However, this wasn’t the full strength Dortmund side, and we saw what a full strength Dortmund can do during the Hinrunde.
There comes a point when projecting Carlo Ancelotti’s lineups that you give up and realize that he’s going to start his lineup, not what you think he should start.
With that in mind, the big question remains in defense on who can actually play. David Alaba, Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng, and Javi Martinez are all on the mend form knocks — both big and small — and will probably decide on the day whether or not they are fit enough to go.
We asked three of our writers to predict what lineup Ancelotti will play against Mainz.
