Greg O'Keeffe was at Goodison to run the rule over Ronald Koeman's side earning a 1-0 win over Watford
Joel Robles 7
Little to do barring a decent late save from Okaka but ticked along well enough otherwise.
Leighton Baines 7
An energetic and savvy performance. Plenty of forward runs irrespective of whether they were as decoy or not, and did his job satisfactorily at the back.
Ashley Williams 7
Certainly no flip-flops for Williams who got stuck into the surprising amount of attrition in the contest and ensured Watford's battering-ram attack was blunted.
Phil Jagielka 7
Battled manfully with the considerable physical threat of Stefano Okaka and led the backline well. A smart assist for Barkley's goal too.
Mason Holgate 6
Assured and confident defensively but, as ever, struggled with his creative remit; so much so that even when he overlapped it was of little use and prompted Koeman to reshuffle at half-time.
Idrissa Gueye 7
The usual defensive hyperactivity was complemented by an impressive willingness to burst forward and create.
Tom Davies 8
Denied what would have been a thunderous goal by Heurelho Gomes' fingertips and buzzed about the engine room with typical industry and purpose. Handled the switch to right-back as if he's always played there; instantly improving the attacking balance down that side.
Morgan Schneiderlin 7
Quietly influential on his return, knitting the play together in the middle.
Ross Barkley 7
A terrific goal sealed a lively display which wasn't always perfect but saw him more often than not make the right decisions on the ball, even if occasionally he lingered on it a touch too long.
Kevin Mirallas 7
Galvanised by his freshly-penned new deal he produced a non-stop display. Although his hard running and pressing was welcome, he struggled to create many chances of note which must always be a concern for a forward.
Romelu Lukaku 6
Stop me if you've heard this one before but... starved of much resembling decent service throughout while largely failing to produce any individual spark.
Enner Valencia (for Holgate 45) 7
Not for the first time he made a difference with his direct running and deft passing in the final third.
Gareth Barry (for Barkley 80) 7
Made a string of crucial late blocks to nullify Watford's last-ditch rally and his vast experience was vital.
Arouna Kone (for Mirallas 85) 6
Some nice link-up play on his brief farewell appearance.
