Real Madrid are ready to enter the bidding for Kai Havertz, who is also wanted by Chelsea this summer, per The Sun.
The Blues have been attacking the transfer window in an aggressive fashion, securing deals to sign Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and closing in on the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.
Nevertheless, they remain interested in doing a deal for the Bayer Leverkusen playmaker, although competition for his signature is fierce.
The 20-year-old, per the report, is also wanted by Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Liverpool, with Real now making their interest known too.
The Sun reports, though, that Havertz would prefer a move to England, and he is said to be well aware of the interest in his services.
The youngster can play everywhere across the forward line and has scored 15 goals in all competitions this season, while also registering eight assists.
GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…
This is not a surprise.
Havertz is perhaps the best player in Germany who doesn’t play for Bayern or Borussia Dortmund and, thus, having interest in him from across Europe makes all the sense in the world.
A versatile attacking figure, he has already made 143 appearances for Leverkusen and has won seven caps for Germany.
Chelsea, the report claims, remain in pole position to secure his signature and one has to believe that whoever manages to bring him in will be securing a gem that can be polished across the next few years.
Frank Lampard’s men need to win the race, because a forward line boasting Ziyech, Werner, and Havertz certainly looks like a cheat code from here.
