Ismaily forward Mohamed El-Shamy has signed a four-year contract extension, keeping him with the club until 2024.
El-Shamy’s contract was set to run out at the end of the season, however, Ismaily president Ibrahim Othman confirmed that he is set to extend his stay with the Yellows.
The former Enppi forward joined Ismaily from Zamalek in 2018 and has been an integral part of their squad ever since.
The 24-year-old guided Ismaily to the Arab Club Championship’s semi-finals after scoring the winning goal in their quarter-final clash against Ittihad of Alexandria.
In addition, El-Shamy managed to score two goals and provide two assists in 18 appearances as Ismaily struggle to find consistent form in the Egyptian Premier League this season.
Ismaily are currently ninth in the Egyptian Premier League table with 22 points after 18 games played.
It’s worth noting that Egyptian football was halted last month due to the coronavirus outbreak as the total number of COVID-19 cases in Egypt reached more than 6,000 cases.
