Wellington Phoenix want assurances from the Australian government that they will be allowed to train together in quarantine before agreeing to finish the A-League season in Australia.
Football Federation Australia announced on Monday that the A-League will continue amid the Covid-19 pandemic, forcing the Phoenix's remaining six games to be staged behind closed doors across the Tasman.
However, under the Australian government's strict border control protocols, the Phoenix will have to serve 14 days of self-isolation upon arrival and will not be permitted to train together during that period.
The Phoenix were originally scheduled to fly to Sydney on Tuesday but have delayed their travel, saying it is now pending a decision from the Australian government.
Phoenix general manager David Dome is expected to front a press conference on Tuesday afternoon but told Radio Sport that the ability to train while in quarantine is an "absolute non-negotitable".
"We have to come up with a solution to base ourselves in Australia but we won't go until we are comfortable that the logistics around that stay in Australia for the two weeks isolation period is acceptable to us as a football club," Dome told Radio Sport.
