Napoli striker Dries Mertens has posted a video on social media thanking the doctors in Italy for their hard work in the midst of the Coronavirus. “I know it’s difficult for you, but you are all doing a great job.”
Italy has been the hardest hit country in Europe in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, with nearly 25,000 active cases.
The death toll currently stands at 1,809 people.
Napoli forward Mertens took to social media to thank the doctors for their efforts in saving lives.
“I have seen all the videos they are making about you whilst you are helping everyone,” Mertens said on an Instagram video.
“I know it’s a difficult time for you, but you are all doing a great job. Thanks for what you are doing.
“You can’t even stay close to your families. I wanted to say thank you and keep strong.”
