Winless in their last four, Bologna will hope to try to make amends in front of their home crowd as they welcome Udinese on Sunday.

The Rossoblu have been in bad form for much of the season, but like other poorly performing sides, they have been given a reprieve due to the even worse showings by the bottom three. They’re thus in no danger of relegation, but have been on the receiving end of some pretty awful results, including a 7-1 humiliation at the hands of Napoli back in February at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

That being said, they are definitely not the worst-performing side at home. They have won six games on home turf, but the last of these was a resounding 4-1 result over Chievo over a month ago. Meanwhile, Udinese are in better form, with just one defeat in their last five games. The struggling Zebrette have slowly started to turn things around, as they were the first team to nick points off Juventus this term, and come into this game having earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Cagliari.

That being said, Udinese still have their defensive troubles, which includes conceding in their last five away fixtures. Bologna will look to take advantage of that, as they have picked up just one point from their last four. Still, they did have to play Roma, Fiorentina, and a high-flying Atalanta during that period, but will be very disappointed not to get all three points against Palermo.

Neither team has much to play for as safety is already guaranteed. For Bologna, it will be all about trying to appease their fans after a bad run of results, whilst Udinese will look to break into the top half of the table before the end of the season.

Bologna haven’t won any of their last four at home against Udinese. All but one of the last six games between the Rossoblu and the Zebrette have seen both sides score, and given that both have their share of defensive woes, there should be goals at both ends. Udinese have struggled somewhat on the road, but one cannot discount their good history against Bologna, and the Zebrette may be able to do enough to earn at least a point.
