Real Madrid are reportedly ready to cut Martin Odegaard's loan spell at Real Sociedad short if the suspension of football due to the coronavirus pandemic drags on.

The 21-year-old joined Sociedad on a two-year loan deal last summer and has impressed during his time at the Basque outfit so far, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in 28 games across all competitions.
The fact that Odegaard's loan terms do not expire until 2021 means that his future appears more straightforward than those whose contracts expire this year, but Mundo Deportivo reports that the coronavirus outbreak could still have an impact on his future.

A loss of revenue during the shutdown has forced most clubs to rethink their summer strategies, and Real Madrid are now reportedly considering other options away from bringing in expensive new players from elsewhere.
Los Blancos view Odegaard as a valuable addition to their first-team squad which would not cost them anything, and could therefore recall him from Sociedad should other targets now be beyond their reach.
Sociedad could also find themselves needing to trim their wage bill as a result of the pandemic, with the Norwegian likely to be one of the first players out of the door if that is the case.
Odegaard joined Madrid at the age of just 16 and became the club's youngest-ever player on his debut, although that is one of only two first-team appearances he has made for the 13-time European champions.
