PAOK to face AEK in Greek Cup final



PAOK overturned its 2-0 loss to Panathinaikos from the first leg in Athens triumphing 4-0 in Thessaloniki on Thursday, setting up a meeting in the final against AEK.
PAOK XI: Glykos; Matos, Crespo, Varela, Leovac; Cimirot, Shakhov; Djalma, Warda, Pelkas; Prijovic.
Panathinaikos XI: Vlachodimos; Coulibaly, Moledo, Koutroumpis, Hult; M’Poku, Dimitris Kourbelis, Nuno Reis, Lucas Villafanez; Klonaridis, Berg.
PAOK, who have Egypt’s international  in their ranks, have advanced to the  Final 4-2 on aggregate, overturning a 2-0 defeat in the first leg. They are set to face AEK in the final after 34 years.
Panathinaikos was the better team in the first half and missed a big number of chances to seal the tie off.
A stunning free-kick in the 14th minute by Dimitris Petkakis saw PAOK finishing the first half on top.
The second half was a walkover for PAOK, with three goals coming from Leo Matos in the 48th minute, Yevhen Shakhov in the 73rd minute and Aleksandar Prijovic in the 83rd minute.
Panathinaikos were reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute with the score at 2-0 due to a second yellow card shown to Niklas Hult.
The Cup final will take place on Saturday May 6th, with the venue yet to be confirmed.
PAOK’s next game will be against Kerkyra in the Superleague on Sunday April 30th as they continue to push for a second-place finish in the league.
