Egypt giants Al Ahly have announced the date for their encounter with Zambian side Zanaco in the CAF Champions League.
The Red Devils were drawn in group D alongside Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca, Cameroon’s Coton Sport, and Zambia’s Zanaco.
Sayed Abdel-Hafiz, Al Ahly’s director of football, confirmed the fixture’s date after receiving the confirmation from both the Egyptian Football Association and the security officials.
Al Ahly will kick-off the Champions League group-stages on Saturday, May 13 against the Zambian side, who were crowned Zambian league champions last season.
Moreover, the security officials have also agreed on the attendance of five thousand fans, as the game will be hosted at Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria instead of El-Salam Stadium in Cairo.
It’s worth mentioning that Zanaco are currently 7th in the Zambian Super League with four points, five points behind leaders ZESCO, while Al Ahly top the Egyptian Premier League with 67 points.
