England v Spain might be friendly but when we get the chance to witness these two nations, one good for defence and the other for attack and keeping possession of the ball we usually know we will be in for a treat.

England is plain sailing to Russia 2018 with interim coach Gareth Southgate who may just get the full time job any time soon.

It seems that the end of the great Spanish era isn’t quite happening as the national side has gone unbeaten since their Euro 2016 exit at the hands of Italy. Since then they have beaten Belgium, Albania, Liechtenstein and Macedonia.

Spain are on top of a super tight group for qualification for Russia 2018 but will be relaxed enough now with no more games until next March.

England will keep it tight and try to frustrate their opponents. Spain will have more of the possession and this game will be cat and mouse. We shouldn’t feel we will see many goals. Southgate doesn’t want to lose this game, this is about making a statement and thus this will be a very close game, with few clear cut chances.
