Italy – Serie A

Venue: Allianz Stadium.
These two are currently the best teams in Italy, and a match-up between the squads could easily be the game of the season.
Surprisingly, the Banshees could be considered even in better form than their counterparts. Devoid of any superstars, they are a well-oiled relentless attacking machine. And they could seriously test the defense of the Old Lady that had just conceded four goals against AC Milan.
This encounter will be of particular interest to Lazio. The Eagles have title-hopes, and they hope Maurizio Sarri’s men would lose this fixture.
And if in case the reigning champions lose this fixture, their title-defense would take a serious hit, as it would be two losses in a row for them, and they have a game coming up against Lazio as well.
By the looks of things, either team will come into the fixture with an intention of winning. A draw does not interest either of these squads.
Coupling this with the phenomenal attacking talent these two possess, expect a goal-fest this weekend.
Juventus vs Atalanta: Head-to-head (h2h)
- Seven of the former eleven match-ups had goals from both teams.
- 23 of the preceding 36 encounters had three or more goals.
- The Old Lady have scores to settle against this foe, as they were eliminated by this opponent from the Coppa Italia the last season.
- The latest encounter at this venue had ended in a 1-1 draw.
- Embarrassingly though, it’s been 31 years since the guests have won at this stadium.
Juventus vs Atalanta: Prediction
Sarri’s men lost 4-2 on the road the last match-day, against AC Milan. It was a concerning defeat, as the guests had bottled a 0-2 lead, and that too in the matter of seven minutes.
In the meantime, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men recorded a 2-0 victory at home, against Sampdoria.
This was their 12th win in a row, and they had managed to score a total of 49 goals from their preceding 14 fixtures alone. They have also scored the most number of goals of all teams in the competition – 85, and keep note that the next best is just 67 by Lazio.
The team has been thriving under Gasperini – easily one of the most underrated coaches in Europe. If in case Sarri is sacked at the end of the season, there’s a high probability that the Old Lady management might go for this guy.
On the other hand, we have attackers like Cristiano Ronaldo, who’s gunning for the Serie A Golden Boot, Paulo Dyabala, who has scored in his last five fixtures, Douglas Costa etc. Suffice it to say, we are in line for a treat of attacking football.
By all means, expect a flurry of goals this weekend at the Allianz Stadium.
