Toronto FC announced today that the club has signed goalkeeper Kevin Silva. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Kevin has worked hard and performed well throughout his time with TFC II. He has a great attitude and will continue to develop working alongside Quentin and Alex on the first team,” said Toronto FC General Manager Ali Curtis.
Silva, 22, signed with Toronto FC II on January 19, 2020. He spent the 2019 USL League One season with Toronto FC II on loan from Scottish club, Heart of Midlothian FC Reserves. He made eight appearances and recorded two clean sheets for the Young Reds last season. Prior to joining Toronto FC II, Silva made five appearances for Heart of Midlothian FC Reserves in 2018 and later spent time on loan with Raith Rovers FC of the Scottish Third Division.
Silva played collegiately for the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He played in 30 matches for the Bruins and earned seven clean sheets in two seasons.
