Corinthians expand shirt branding deal with petrol station chain ALE

Brazilian Série A football club Corinthians has expanded its shirt branding agreement with petrol station brand ALE Combustíveis.
The deal provides ALE with rights to brand the lower front bar of the São Paulo-based club’s uniform, replacing medical services brand Cartão de Todos beneath the logo of the main shirt sponsor, banking group BMG.
ALE will also get branding on digital backdrops at the Arena Corinthians stadium, on-field signage at the club’s training ground – the Joaquim Grava Training Centre – and on social media.
With a network of around 1,500 service stations, ALE is the fourth-largest fuel distributor in Brazil.
The association between the two organisations began in March 2019, when ALE acquired branding rights on the side of the club shirt.
Andrés Sanchez, president of Corinthians, said the expansion reinforced the synergy between club and sponsor after a year of partnership and several promotional activities.
To mark the renewal of the partnership, the company will provide fans with R$25 (€4.2/$4.75) vouchers to buy new game shirts, launched by kit supplier Nike two weeks ago.
Despite the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil and the suspension of the league season from mid-March, the club said that ALE did not interrupt any contractual payments during the period.
The Brazilian Serie A season is expected to restart on August 9.
