Supreme Dundalk show class to swat Derry aside

Dundalk deservedly ended Derry City's unbeaten record at the Brandywell.
Ex-Derry fans favourite Michael Duffy produced a man of the match display, in front of a packed crowd, as Stephen Kenny's side at times looked like a side moving into top gear.
The visitors had the first chance on four minutes but Michael Duffy's stinging left footed strike hit the side netting.Minutes later Duffy went even closer but this time a fully stretched Gerard Doherty did well to keep out the ex-Derry man's long range free-kick.
After started to come more and more into the game and they missed a golden chance on 10 minutes as Rory Patterson's astute back flick found Ronan Hale, but he was denied by a out-rushing Gary Rogers.
Soon after the home side did break the deadlock from an unlikely source as Darren Cole's left footed strike fizzed over Rogers.
In an entertaining first half Dundalk went close to levelling things as Sean Hoare saw his outstanding volley superbly kept out by Doherty.
The visitors went close again on 26 minutes but Robbie Benson's volley was blocked away for a corner by Conor McDermott and Duffy's resulting corner found an unmarked Brian Gartland who gleefully headed home from close range.
Dundalk took the lead on 33 minutes in super fashion as some neat passing ended with Jamie McGrath's pass feeding Benson, who broke the offside trap before calmly rounding Doherty and side footing home.Moments later Doherty had to make a top draw save to deny Dylan Connolly, after the winger had initially got in behind Jack Doyle.
Dundalk netted a third on 50 minutes following another slick counter attack as Derry loss possession deep inside the visitors half, but Benson released Duffy, who skipped away from McDermott, before calmly drilling the ball home past Doherty.
Substitute Krisztian Adorjan went close to adding a fourth in 83 minutes as he skipped clear of Peers, but his shot was saved by Doherty.
In the closing stages Hoare went close to scoring but Doherty did well to keep the ball out after a goal mouth scramble.
Adorjan did score in stoppage time after fellow substitute Marco Tajbajumi had created the opening, with a neat cut-back.
