A Whelan own goal gave West Ham the lead in east London but a mistake from goalkeeper Adrian allowed Bojan to earn the visitors a point
Bojan Krkic came off the bench to score a late equaliser to deny West Ham victory at troubled London Stadium.
After a dreadful first half, a Glenn Whelan own goal gave the Hammers the 65th-minute lead, deflecting Michail Antonio's header into his own net.
Mark Hughes threw on the former Barcelona star six minutes later – and he volleyed into an empty net after 75 minutes when Jonathan Walters bravely crossed before he was clattered by Adrian. The Spanish keeper was booked for the high challenge.
Mark Hughes' side are now unbeaten in six Premier League games while the draw ended West Ham's run of two consecutive home wins.
Here are five things we learned:
1. West Ham still do not feel at home at the London Stadium
Two more points dropped amid a strange atmosphere in Stratford and the Hammers sit just four points off the drop zone. And the next four games after the international break are Spurs away, Manchester United away, Arsenal at home and then Liverpool away
2. Stoke supporters not fans of the former London Stadium
The sterile area sterile zone between fans was extended to the pitch as West Ham and Stoke.
The Potters fans interrupted the un-Upton Park silence with: “Is this a library?” and then made less than flattering remarks about West Ham's new home. Like all football fans – and taxpayers - the anger is only increased because they are paying for it.
3. Stand up if you love West Ham
The highlight of a terrible first half was defiant Hammers fans standing up in defiance of instructions to remain seated. Extra police poured into the stadium at this point.
4. Joe Allen has been liberated
The Wales midfielder has been shifted forward to play behind Wilfried Bony and again looked lively yesterday. He has been involved in half of Stoke's 12 Premier League goals this season with four goals and two assists
5. Stoke like London better this time
On the Potters' last visit to the capital in September, they were stuffed 4-1 at Crystal Palace – their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat – to sit bottom of the table. The club and Mark Hughes, a candidate for Manager of the Month, held their nerve and are now above West Ham in the table after picking up 12 points from a possible 18.
