Sunderland are arguably the worst team in Premier League this season. And it wouldn’t come as a surprise that they are at the rock bottom of the league table. With 10 matches into the season, they suffered 8 defeats and gathered 2 points from draws against Southampton and West Brom.
As the infield plight is mounting up for the Black Cats, the limelight is on David Moyes. Many British media outlets are suggesting that the Scotsman could be sacked if Sunderland fail to grab a win against Bournemouth. Interestingly, Moyes won’t be able to manage his team from the touchline on Saturday as he is serving a one match ban for FA misconduct.
Bournemouth are a team in good spirits at the moment as they comfortably sit 10th in the league table with 12 points. But they haven’t won or scored in the last two league matches.
However, the Cherries can take a lot of confidence from their home record this season. They held Tottenham to a goal-less draw in their latest Premier League clash at the Dean Court. And they haven’t lost a match at home since the defeat to Manchester United on opening day. They are unbeaten in the last 4 home matches with three wins and a draw. And conceded only one goal during the period.
Bournemouth vs Sunderland: Head-to-head Stats
Bournemouth were unbeaten in the two Premier League meetings against Sunderland in the 2015/16 season. Their first ever league meeting was at the Dean Court on September 2015 and Bournemouth took the home win on a 2-0 margin. Bournemouth vs Sunderland: Prediction
Eddie Howe managed side is a real force to reckon when playing at their home ground. The picked up some big results in the last three home matches, including the 1-0 win against an inform Everton, 6-1 thrashing of Hull City and 0-0 draw against Tottenham. They do flop while playing away from home, but they are a very reliable side at their own backyard.
On the other hand, Sunderland hardly play like a team and majority of their key players are not in good touch. However, the weight-age is pressure is expected to affect them going into this match. While, Bournemouth is a well-organized side at home and are likely to earn a comfortable win on Saturday.
