Veteran Ivory Coast winger Salmon Kalou has officially agreed a deal with Brazilian club Botafogo that will see him play for the club for the upcoming season following his experience in the Bundesliga.
Kalou has featured for his former club Hertha Berlin only in seven games this season across all competitions, where he scored two goals.
He has been representing the Budesliga club in the past six years where he played a total of 173 game scoring 53 goals and providing 16 assists.
Kalou was suspended by Hertha Berlin in May because of a video he posted of himself violating social distancing rules during the pandemic, shaking hands with teammates and interrupting a medical checkup of another player.
Botafogo announced on Friday morning that the 34-year-old will join the Brasilerao side on a free transfer after his contract with Hertha expired with a contract that runs until 2021.
Kalou played for Chelsea between 2006-12 and represented the Ivory Coast at two World Cups. He also helped his country win the 2015 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
